Supplementary material
Element or context:
<supplementary-material>
Requirements:
- Contain supplementary material for the articlewithin a
element within <back>, just after the data accessibility statement and before the reference list. Use attribute sec-type="supplementary-material". Contain the text "Supplementary material" within <title>; see the order of sections in the example, below
- Set @specific-use="print" on the paragraph containing the statement "The following Supplementary Material is available with the article through the journal website at doi:..."
- Use a separate <supplementary-material> element to reference each piece of supplementary material. Use a unique id of the form "sm{number}"
- Use xlink:href on <supplementary-material> to indicate the location where the supplementary material file is stored. N.B. If the supplementary material file is local (meaning, it is being uploaded with the article XML and will be stored on the journal website), then use xlink:title="local-file" (see the example)
- Include the label for each supplementary material item within <label> tags, and within the label, include the file type and size in parenthesis. If there is any description of the supplementary material, include it as a caption (<caption><p>; see the examples below)
- In the label (<label>), include the file type and file size. The file type should be in uppercase letters, and the file type and size should be separated by a solidus, with a space before and after the solidus (see the example)
