Competing interest statements

Element or context:

<author-notes><p>

Requirement:

  1. Place the competing interest statement within <p> inside <author-notes> and set attribute 'content-type' on <p> to "competing-interests"
  2. Ensure that within <author-notes>, there is a <title> containing the text "Notes" (see the example)

Example:

<title>Notes</title> <fn id="afn1" fn-type="author-fn"><label>&#x2a;</label><p>Deceased.</p></fn> <fn id="afn2" fn-type="author-fn"><p><label>&#x2020;</label>Present address: Department of Foreign Affairs, Havana, Cuba.</p></fn> <p content-type="competing-interests">The authors have no competing interests.</p> </author-notes>
