6 January 2017:
- Reversed both requirements from 4 January 2017.
4 January 2017:
- Do not include page numbers (<fpage> or <lpage>) as these are no longer being captured for FACETS
- Added new requirements for capturing an article's ID assigned by CSP
1 November 2016:
- When a table is wider than the column width of the PDF, set @position on <table-wrap> to "margin"; otherwise, set it to "anchor"; see Tables, requirement No. 1
- We are making a slight change to the author–affiliation model to conform to scoping convention (see Affiliations for an example); therefore:
- discontinue using @specific-use on <aff> elements that occur outside of <contrib>
- for <aff> elements that occur within <contrib>, use @specific-use="internal-use"
- Fix inconsistencies:
- @xlink:type is being applied inconsistently (sometimes present, sometimes not). It is not needed on any element (e.g., <mixed-citation>, <graphic>) so please omit
- The pseudo-attribute xmlns:xlink is being applied inconsistently. Since it is already declared on <article>, please omit on elements within <article>, as these are within the scope of the namespace declaration on <article>
20 May 2016: Revised supplementary material model at CSP
11 May 2016: Revised pub date attributes from pub-type="epub" to date-type="pub" as attribute pub-type is now deprecated in JATS
5 May 2016. Made the following updates:
- NOTE: We are reversing a previous request to remove line-breaks from XML (sent via email); please include line breaks going forward
- NOTE: Please remove the OASIS namespace declaration from <article>, as we are not using the JATS DTD version that supports OASIS CALS tables
- Revised the XML modelling for data accessibility so that it is now contained within its own
- Revised documentation for supplementary material
- Expanded requirements for lists of symbols and abbreviations (glossary objects) to include instructions for abbreviation lists and also to highlight placement in the XML for these lists with respect to supplementary material and the data accessibility statement
- Added requirement for papertype 'communication' (maps to @article-type="note"); see <article>
- Added a requirement for notes on the article as a whole
- Added requirements for boxed-text
- Corrected tables documentation to reflect XHTML tables
- Added requirement to include the 4-digit year @iso-8601-date for non-standard years in bibliographic references

21 April 2016: Added requirement for @initials on <surname> (See requirement No. 6 on the authors page) and clarified which DTD to use.
14 March 2016: Changed @contrib-type attribute value requirement for Editors (i.e., this @ should always have the value 'subject-ed').
