Footnotes (text)

Element or context:

<fn-group><fn>

Description:

Footnotes that appear in the flow of the text.

Requirements:

 

  1. For **each** <sec> that contains footnotes, use a <fn-group> element to contain all the footnotes for that <sec> only. Each <fn-group> element should go just before the closing </sec> tag, below everything else in the <sec> (see the example)
  2. Link the callout to a footnote with a <xref> element
  3. Contain each footnote within <fn>, and give the footnote a unique id of the form "fn{some number}"
  4. Set attribute 'fn-type' to "text-fn"
  5. Use a <label> element to contain the linking symbol within <sup> tags; linking symbols for text footnotes should be arabic numbers
